Small Business Grant & Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant – North Tyneside

March 24, 2020

Small Business Grant & Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant

  • All businesses already in receipt of small business rate relief or rural rate relief will receive a £10,000 grant.
  • Businesses which are defined as Retail, Leisure or Hospitality with a rateable value of under £15,000 will also receive a £10,000 grant.
  • Businesses which are defined as Retail, Leisure or Hospitality which have a rateable value of £15,000 to £51,000 will receive a £25,000 cash grant.

As far as we understand, the payments will be made by BACs rather than cheque, and will be paid to the person who according to the billing authority’s records was the ratepayer in respect of the hereditament on the scheme eligibility date, 11 March 2020.

If bank details have changed, The Business Rates team at North Tyneside Council have asked that businesses contact them if they have changed their bank details to ensure that this is paid out as soon as possible, when received, by BACS rather than issuing cheques. Confirm details to business.rates@northtyneside.gov.uk  with name, business address, and business rate account number.

If your business is eligible, North Tyneside Council will contact you. Please do not worry if you cannot access your premise, measures are being put in place to support the distribution of grants.
